Staff and Board

The Progressive Media Project has three staffers.

Amitabh Pal is the co-editor of the Progressive Media Project. He came to the project as the associate editor in 1997. A few years later, he became the managing editor of The Progressive magazine. And for the last several years, he has served both in that capacity and as the co-editor of the Progressive Media Project. Pal writes op-eds himself for the project several times a year. He also is finishing up his first book about nonviolent activism in Muslim societies, forthcoming from Praeger.

Andrea Potter is the development director of the Progressive Media Project. She joined the project in 2007, after working for fifteen years at the East Madison Community Center, where she served as the assistant director.

Matthew Rothschild is the co-founder, director, and co-editor of the Progressive Media Project. He is also the editor and publisher of The Progressive magazine. He is the author of You Have No Rights: Stories of America in an Age of Repression (New Press, 2007). And he edited Democracy in Print: The Best of The Progressive Magazine, 1909-2009 (University of Wisconsin Press, 2009).
